If only I had known! Rube Goldberg, born on July 4, 1883, in San Francisco, began his career as an engineer for the City of San Francisco Water and Sewers Department. However, poop appeared to be insufficiently stimulating, and Goldberg used his considerable drafting talents to create models of impossibly complicated devices to complete simple tasks. Since he was a contemporary of my characters in Shaketown, and since he had such a fantastic sense of humor, he would have made a great character! Too late for this book, but we love you Rube!
